Cape May is a city and seaside resort at the tip of southern New Jersey’s Cape May Peninsula. It’s known for its grand Victorian houses such as the Emlen Physick Estate, now a museum with a preserved interior from the era. Shops and restaurants line the Washington Street Mall, 3 pedestrianized blocks of Washington Street. The Cape May Lighthouse provides views across the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean.

Built in 1884, the Morning Star Villas was originally a luxury hotel in the heat of Cape May City. In 1967 the building was moved approximately one mile to its current location at 1307 Beach Avenue and in 1989 was completely restored and converted into a 14-unit condominium.
The Morning Star Villa in Cape May, New Jersey is a one-of-a-kind historic jewel!
This beautiful structure was originally built in 1884.It is notable because in 1893, a fourth floor was added above the mansard roof, giving the building a very unusual visual effect.
Zoned residential/commercial, the Morning Star Villa is one of the country’s oldest beach resort destinations.
Interestingly, in May of 1967, the entire building was moved one mile.
Rescued from destruction during a 1967 urban renewal project, Morning Star Villa typifies the eccentric design of many Cape May houses. Wide verandas with decorative railings
Cape May, in fact, is a National Historic Landmark and one of the most photographed seaside resorts in America. With the likes of the Morning Star Villa, you can see why!
